I think this would hurt theDonald in November
I'm guessing there are a few fence sitters that are only there because of the opportunity to continue to stack the judiciary (a utilitarian view I can't relate to any longer given what we've seen, but still). Knowing those 2 seats are safe for (likely) a long time to come may give them a reason to actually vote their conscience.
I also think that Moscow Mitch pushing through 2 new judges would actually excite the D base (and other people who care about integrity in government) in ways that the candidate might not be able to. Biden can remind people that he came up with the rule, Mitch actually used it (why it should be known as the McConnell rule), then Mitch would have to break it.
Given the choice, I'd take 2 conservative judges today if it meant a loss for theDonald in November. I don't love the judiciary being stacked to serve a minority of citizens, but I don't think it poses the same type of threat to the country as another 4 years of the jerk-off we have today. It may also force us to create laws the way they were meant to be created. Clearly the two aren't linked that closely, but it is a trade I'd make (and Biden would appoint the RBG replacement).
